a danger to ourselves
it's not amphetamines, it's something else
my body's smeared in bloody red
she said she loved me
but i don't trust her yet
i’m not quite lucid, i'm far from clean
i’m plummeting slowly, doused in dopamine
the walls are thin, my nerves are shot
i’m vulnerable and i know it
is that door locked?

Release notes:
28.01.25: LUCRECIA DALT – COSA RARA
A prolific and limitless musician, performer, composer, and sound artist, Lucrecia Dalt challenges both genre and form, pulling apart familiar elements of pop and experimental music and reassembling them in unexpected ways.
Breaking through to a wider audience with her acclaimed 2022 album ¡Ay!, Dalt has also made a name as a composer for film and TV, including her original, acclaimed score for HBO’s series The Baby and Cannes 2024 feature film winner On Becoming a Guinea Fowl.
With ‘cosa rara,’ her new single featuring mixing, production, and a rare appearance by cult music legend David Sylvian, the subject of one’s self becomes an unlikely infatuation. Distilling the highs of love, and sonically translating with production precision and hyper focused clarity, ‘cosa rara’ is a bold return for Dalt, inviting listeners on a thrilling escapade of sound and psychology.\
Released on 28/02/2025:
— Limited edition of 500 3-track 7″ pressing, containing two additional exclusive versions of “cosa rara”
Lucrecia Dalt writes:
I’m am absolutely thrilled to share the news about my new song cosa rara featuring David Sylvian out on RVNG Intl. Preorder the 7″ here on Bandcamp!
This song originated from a drum loop that Alex Lazaro sent to me — like a secret agent of sound infiltrating my brain, every loop he makes feels like it’s got the DNA of the song embedded in its groove, and I just have to wait with a microphone in hand for the moment of fine-tuning to bust it all out. As the first part of the track came together, I felt this wild urge to slow everything down to a sultry dub tempo, and that’s when David jumped in, adding his own unique flavor, textured voice, and guitars. The lyric paints an urban experience of the sublime, a deliciously lurid scene between two lovers, reveling in each other’s presence so fervently that they create a wild magnetic force field, attracting all sorts of delightful chaos around them. They disrupt the fabric of reality, with anomalies seeping in from the edges of perception. And guess who inspired part of the lyrics below?
después del fin,
respiro urgente
una luz blanca por todo el desierto (pregunta)
¿tienes fuego? (gotta light?)
le dice desgarrando su pensar
translation:
after the end,
urgent respite.
a white light covers the desert, asking,
“gotta light?” (gotta light?)
he says, while tearing her thoughts apart.
