Road To Graceland in pictures
This beautiful illustrated monograph, with analytical commentary by design critic Rick Poynor, is the first to examine in detail both phases of Oliver’s career – initially as a partner of photographer Nigel Grierson in the enigmatically named 23 Envelope, then from 1988, working with Chris Bigg under the studio name of v23.
Rick Poynor writes about design, media and the visual arts for Print, Frieze, Graphics, I.D., Blueprint and many other international publications. He collaborated with Brian Eno and Russell Mills on the book More Dark Than Shark (1986) and has written about Vaughan Oliver’s work on a number of occasions.
Featured in the book are a couple of Road To Graceland artworks. Really amazing book for anyone who is slightly interested in Oliver’s or v23 artwork.
