According to the weblog of Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon, David is involved in a project with actress Isabelle Adjani. The project is a “concept” album about the cycle of a love relationship, from one break up to another.
David recently completed work on a compilation cd featuring some of the best of his collaborative work of the last decade or so. Entitled ‘Sleepwalkers’ it contains fresh remixes by David and a new composition with classical composer Dai Fujikura entitled ‘Five Lines’. This 16 track new compilation will be released in September 26th 2010.

For people who can’t wait until September 14th, there’s an opportunity to watch the Amplified Gesture documentary a few days earlier. On saturday September 5th, 2009 the documentary about David Sylvian’s new album “Manofon” is shown at the Punkt Festival in Kristiansand, Norway.
Both UK magazines Mojo and The Wire feature in their September 2009 issues interviews with David. Besides talking about the past, David is very open about the Manafon project and taking steps from there.Very good, new photographs by Donald Milne is giving the Wire article an extra reason for the collector to get this issue.
On September 14th 2009, the movie Amplified Gesture will be shown at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). There’ll be a screening of the DVD, a Q&A with the director and a playback of a couple of tracks from Manafon. David will not be there! Jacqueline is the title of the (unreleased) track that has been released on the CD “FANTASTIC AND SPECTACULAR”, which is enclosed with the July/August issue of the US magazine The Believer 2009 Music Issue. The CD is compiled by Daniel Handler, who is the author of three novels and many, many books for children.
