Perdiamoci Di Vista – Carlo Verdone
It ‘s my pleasure to announce that finally the Heartbeat video clip has been released on an official DVD! Not on a Virgin music video compilation but on the bonus DVD of the 2DVD set of the Carlo Verdone movie Perdiamoci Di Vista (starring Carlo Verdone and Asia Argento).
Perdiamoci Di Vista is an Italian movie (1994) from Carlo Verdone. Carlo Verdone is a director, screenwriter and actor, born November 17th, 1950 in Rome, Italy. Recent movie of Carlo is Manual Of Love (Manuale d’Amore, 2005).
It is known that Carlo admires the music of David Sylvian. He often uses music of David in his productions. The soundtrack of Perdiamoci Di Vista contains the track Heartbeat (Tainai Kaiki II).
davidsylvian.net got involved during the very last days of this production. When the production of the DVD set of Perdiamoci Di Vista started, Carlo wanted to include the promotional video of Heartbeat on the bonus disc of this collector’s edition. Carlo Verdone received green light from both Virgin Records and David Sylvian/Opium (Arts) to use the video. But…. nobody seems to have it anymore.
Carlo contacted his friend Danilo Pellegrinelli, the manager of Christan Fennesz for advice. Danilo contacted Sylvian fan Lucio di Francesco about the possibilities. Lucio asked me if I had any decent recording. Luckily I have an original Virgin VHS tape with the promo video. Although 13 years old, the quality was still very reasonable. Danilo contacted me to arrange a quick delivery of the video to the production company in Rome, Italy. After transferring it to DVD and sending it as quickly as possible to Rome, it was just in time for the production of the DVD set.
